PROJECT X 'Hrafn: Conversations with Odin' at Hastings Caves State Reserve! Take a journey into the deep, dark wilds of the far south and follow your guide into the trees, where you’ll listen to 2000 ravens coming in to roost—an avian exchange of sound not usually witnessed by humans. Thursday–Saturday, at dusk (times vary throughout the season) 1 August–26 October Hastings Caves, southern Tasmania. The Aftermath Dislocation Principle Artist Jimmy Cauty’s dystopian creation continues its odyssey south with a twelve-month tour of the Huon Valley, starting in Geeveston.

Far South Tasmania is hosting a series of Feasts showcasing local food, music, art and our unique environment.

Our inaugural Far South Feast: Long table Dinner overlooking stunning Port Esperance

Port Esperance Sailing Club, Saturday 14 September 2019

A four course meal featuring local produce from local producers:

  • The Rocket at the End of the Road
  • Bakehouse Distillery
  • Quarry Hill Tourism
  • Surges Bay Orchard
  • and the Far South Tasmania Inc. team.
Some dishes will be presented in bowls handcrafted by our local potters Jane Thiele and Andrew Halford (pottery available for purchase).

Enjoy your meal on the outdoor deck of the Sailing Club overlooking stunning Port Esperance. You'll be entertained by live music, warmed by cosy fires and stimulated by great company.

$40 per person (plus booking fees), includes mulled SBO Cider on arrival and a taste of Evoke. Licenced Bar by Port Esperance Sailing Club (PESC).

Dover Seafest

Dover Seafest

Seafest is an annual event held on the beautiful Dover Foreshore. Seafest showcases the region’s best local produce, with a focus on its seafood. You will also find stalls offering locally produced beer, cider, wine, tea, coffee, cakes, jams, art and handicrafts. Bring the whole family for a relaxing day of food and drink, live music, dance, demonsrations, displays and children’s activities. The next Dover Seafest will be held on Sunday, 15 March 2020, 10am to 3pm.
