Far South Skiff Project

If you've dreamed of building your own boat and haven't known where to start, here is your chance to become a part of the rich Tasmanian maritime history. Participate in the building of a St Ayles Skiff. The package includes a welcome dinner with fellow builders and locals, a lifetime of memories, vitamin sea and the chance to learn something new.  No previous skills required.

Join us in Tasmania's glorious Far South for a weekend of exploration, winter warmth and the opportunity to get hands on with a community project to build a St Ayles Skiff.
Enjoy the hospitality of the locals with a casual welcome meal at the renowned Bakehouse Distillery. Get involved, with expert instruction and guidance in a workshop that will contribute to the building of a St Ayles Skiff, for use by the community of Far South Tasmania and visitors to our region.
Your package includes membership of the Port Esperance Sailing Club and covers all insurances both on and off the water.
Day 1- 5pm Debrief and casual welcome dinner (included) at Bakehouse Distillery with a welcome drink on arrival.
Day 2- 9am row in existing St Ayles Skiff (weather permitting)
12-4pm Skiff building workshop, contributing to the build of the Far South Skiff from kit form

Cost of package: $ 195 per person includes welcome dinner/drink, row in existing skiff, insurance on and off water and building workshop.
